John Treacy: A native of Villierstown, Co. Waterford, John won the World Cross Country Championship in 1978 in Edinburgh and in 1979 in Limerick. Silver medalist at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984, won The Los Angeles Marathon in 1992 and The Dublin City Marathon in 1994. John continued his association with sport joining the Irish Sports Council where he was appointed chief Executive in 1999.
An evening of poetry, music and song with Listowel Singers & Comhaltas Ceoilteoirí Eireann organised by the Ballylongford/Tarbert Branch.

This workshop will include body language, how we communicate, an
exploration of posture and daily movements, response to stimuli including
music, poetry and drama an introduction to choreography.
No previous experience necessary.
Orfhlaith is an experienced Irish Dance teacher and choreographer. She has
taught movement classes in Ireland and abroad and has lectured in dance at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick, Mary
Immaculate Collage, Limerick and Williams College, Western Massachussetts.

The Jerry McCabe story is at last being told” so said Desie O’Malley when he
launched the book. We now have a permanent record of the June 1996 shooting in Adare and the ten years of agony that the family went through as Sinn Féin IRA demanded the release of the killers even before they went to trial. “It shows that history, if not justice, is catching up with the Provos”.

Dr. John McDonagh lectures in the Department of English in Mary Immaculate
College in Limerick. His book “Brendan Kennelly a Host of Ghosts” was
published by Liffey Press in 2004. He also edited a collection of essays by
Michael Hartnett (FourCourts Press 2006). Dr. John McDonagh has been
involved in and supported the festival since its inception.

Mo Scéal Féin – Bill Cullen
Bill Cullen was born in 1942 in the inner city tenements of Dublin. Bill finished
school at thirteen years of age and became involved in the motor trade and
quickly rose to the top. Bill’s motor business has now a turnover of 450 million
per annum, prompting Sir Anthony O’Reilly’s apt comment “Bill Cullen came
from the rabbit warrens of despair in the slums of Dublin to become one of
Ireland’s most inspirational business leaders”. Bill has written two books both of which have become best sellers.

make a magical spiral stone to seal our legend in!

proceeds from the sales of this book will be donated to the Irish Guide Dogs
Association.
